In conjunction with the Taraba State University, to which she is affiliated, we offer a 1 year full time course leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology (PGDT). Similar version of the PGDT is also available through a part time program over one and a half (1½) years.
The PGDT is designed to act as a bridge between previous degree level studies of different kinds and theological study at Masters Level.
Other versions of the PGDT are obtainable depending on both the nature of the previous study (whether in theology related disciplines or other academic disciplines) and the nature of further study at Master’s level for which the PGDT is intended as preparation.
It is also possible for students to take the PGDT without going on to Masters Studies. It can still be used to pursue Masters Degree subsequently either at VTS or another Seminary. The difference between the full time and part time program shall be in the intensity of teaching the part time courses and in the separation of written assignments, which are to be done by the end of the December following the teaching and examination of each course. Written assignment is required to encourage research and writings. More to this, lecturers are also encouraged to provide hand-outs for part time students.
All candidates for the Post Graduate Diploma in Theology (PGDT) (Full Time or Part Time) must be recommended by the Seminary and qualified under any one of the following:
- A First Degree (BA, B. Sc. B.Ed. etc.) in any subject/area from a recognized institution.

Veenstra Theological Seminary (VTS) offers a 2 year full time course leading to a Master of Divinity Degree. This Degree is also offered through a part time program over 3½ years.

It must be noted that the M.Div course is more demanding than the B.Th in two major ways: The study of M.Div is more intensive than B.Th study and the pass mark for M.Div is higher than that of B.Th.
